SOSC 260    China's Economy        Fall 2002
Carsten Holz

Change in classroom: starting Monday, 16 September 2002: 3412
Second midterm exam is on 18 November, room to be announced

Assignment questions: http://teaching.ust.hk/~sosc260/assignment-questions.html

If you don't have the course prerequisites
If you don't have the course prerequisites, but still want to take the course, I need to point out that you are likely to be somewhat at a disadvantage compared to those students who meet the prerequisites. While we don't use any advanced economics, and introduce all economic concepts from the beginning, I do assume that you have seen many of the economic concepts before, and thus am likely to go too fast for those who have no economics background. If you don't mind to be at a disadvantage, send me an e-mail saying that you don't mind, with your name and student ID (to socholz@ust.hk). Also register with ARR for the course; ARR will then send me an e-mail asking me whether I waive the prerequisites for you, and if I have your e-mail saying that you don't mind the disadvantage, I will. Since I will be out of town from 15 August, I suggest you send the e-mail/ register with ARR on 2 or 3 September.

Course outline (after some help from our technician, both the English and Chinese are now readable):
