GROUP REPORT

 

v  The grouping is the same as your advisory group (Some of the groups will be divided into 2-3 groups.)

 

v  Topic: Green Issues and Sustainability: The Challenge for Greater China‘s Logistics Industry Today

 

v  Due Date: on or before May 18, 2011 at 11a.m.

 

GROUP REPORT REQUIRMENTS

 

v  Please submit the group report to TA.

 

v  Each group MUST seek help from communication tutors

 

v  Communication tutors will meet each group from Mar 1, 2011 to April 29, 2011

 

v  Each group should send the draft group report to communication tutors before the first meeting

 

v  You are highly recommended to contact communication tutors before Mar 1, 2011 for arranging meeting

 

v  Each group (all groupmates) has to meet the communication tutors at least once for discussing the group report

 

v  Each group MUST ask one of the communication tutors to sign on the cover page of the group report

 

v  Students will FAIL the course because of poor quality group report, without communication tutor’s signature on group report, no submission of group report and/or no contribution to his/her group report

 

v  Each student has to contribute at least one page to your group report (i.e., if your group has ten students, then your group will submit a report with at least ten pages)

 

Ø  Format: Single line spacing

Ø  Font: Times New Roman

Ø  Font size: 12

Ø  Margin: 1" (Top, Bottom, Left, Right)

Ø  The report must be stapled

Ø  Please try to print on both sides

 


GROUP REPORT STRUCTURE

 

v  Each group will elect two students as group leaders

 

v  The report will be structured with three sections (or more)

 

Ø  Section 1: Background of the topic

·         Background and typical activities about the industry that the topic belongs to

·         Data and statistics of the overall industry that the topic belongs to HK area

·         Data and statistics of the overall industry that the topic belongs to the World and Greater China

·         Relevance of this industry to HK region (and the World and Greater China)

 

Ø  Section 2. What are the developments

·         Talk about those developments in details

·         ……

 

Ø  Section 3. Research and analysis

·         Verification of facts

·         Comparison of facts, like industry with others (e.g. competitors in HK, Greater China, Taiwan, World)

·         Future trends according to other sources

·         Other related topics (e.g. IELM courses relevant to the topic)

·         ……

(This is for your reference.  You may have your own structure.)

 

v  Exact structure of the sub-sections could be determined by the group leaders and group members

 

v  The Group Leaders will assign each sub-topic to each group member

 

v  Each person must complete his/her section, and email it to the group leaders before the deadline, which is set by the group leaders

 

v  The Group leaders will collect all the individual report from the members, and adjust them into a coherent story

 

v  You are allowed to use tables, charts, figures, etc in the report, but please keep in mind that all of those have to be relevant to the topic
